Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 2026-02-16
By creating an account and using VinylCrate ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
1. Who We Are
VinylCrate is an online platform for cataloguing, tracking, and sharing vinyl record collections. We are the data controller for personal information you provide to us. Contact us through the application for any questions about these Terms or your account.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service without parental consent. If you are 13–15, a parent or legal guardian must consent on your behalf. Anyone under 13 may not use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm you meet these requirements.
3. Your Account
Access requires a valid invite code, which you may share with others at your discretion. We may revoke or limit invite codes at any time. You are responsible for all activity under your account and must keep your credentials secure. Accounts are personal and may not be sold or transferred. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service lawfully and respectfully. You must not:
- Post content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, or infringes any third-party rights.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or related systems.
- Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to collect data without our written permission.
- Impersonate anyone or misrepresent your identity.
- Use the Service for any unlawful commercial purpose.
We may remove content or suspend access for violations. Where required by law, we will notify you and provide a way to challenge our decision.
5. Your Content
You own any content you submit. By submitting it, you grant us a limited licence to use, store, and display it solely to operate the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account (except for copies held in backups, which are purged within 90 days). You warrant that your content does not infringe any third-party rights.
6. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with Discogs and may add further integrations in future. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies — we are not responsible for them. We may modify or remove integrations at any time, with reasonable notice for material changes.
7. Intellectual Property
All Service content, features, and functionality (excluding your content) belong to VinylCrate and its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works without our express written consent.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or the accuracy of third-party data such as album metadata. You use the Service at your own risk. Nothing here excludes statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or €10. We do not limit liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time via your account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account for material violations of these Terms, with prior notice where required by applicable law. On termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Sections 7, 8, 9, and 12 survive termination.
11. Changes to These Terms
We will give you at least 30 days' notice before material changes take effect, via email or in-app notification. If you disagree, you may close your account before the changes apply. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Australian law. Regardless of where you are located, you also retain any mandatory legal protections provided by the laws of your country of residence that cannot be waived by contract.
